The Star at Lidgate

The Street, Lidgate, United Kingdom, CB8 9PP

The Star at Lidgate is a charming grade 2 listed country pub and restaurant, with beautiful 16th-century carved oak beams, inglenook fireplaces and a large garden. Nestled in the beautiful Suffolk countryside between the home town of British horse racing Newmarket and the historic Bury St Edmunds.

Not far from Newmarket Racecourse, the Star at Lidgate sits in the home of thoroughbred horse racing. There are also a number of great fishing lakes nearby, such as Hermitage and Foxearth Fisheries, as well as golf clubs such as Gog Magog Hills, Links and Bury St Edmunds.

Even closer to your front door, the Star at Lidgate is next to a park with cricket nets, football goals and a zipline (which you’re never too old to use). Once you’ve exhausted yourself, you can relax in the beer garden and get to know the goats that live just opposite your cabin.
